SBS 2008 offline workstation

One of my workstations suddenly showed up on the SBS console network page as "offline" although it is definitely online and functioning normally.  However, the error is preventing the workstation to be accessed remotely via Remote Desktop.

Other than removing the machine from the domain, then re-joining it, which may not solve the problem, are there other ways to fix this error?

Sounds like the trust between the DC and workstation is broken or the machine account is disabled. If you right click the machine account in AD, is there an enable option? There should be an error triggered in the event viewer on the DC and workstation when  the machine attempts to logon. Posting the error here would help alot

Machine doesn't list in AD as it was configured using the SBS console.  I might  just try removing and reconnecting it to the domain although, if there is a trust issue, that will raise a whole host of other connection problems!

No success so I cloned the drive of an identical workstation.  That solved the problem.
