I have a Dell Inspirion Laptop less then a year old. I first install Windows Pro 32 bit on it and got it fully patched, at that time I noticed that downloads would always be corrupt and when I would remote desktop into any thing i would get these 2 errors:

because of a protocol error detect at the client (code0x1204), the sessionw ill be disconnected. Please try connecting to the remote computer again

because of an error in data encryption this session will end, plese try connecting to the remote computer again

I work as a consultant so I RDP to many different servers as this happens on all of them (Server 2008, SBS 2003, Server 2003, XP, WIndows 7). The problem though really seems to happen when I am on a PPTP VPN or SSTP VPN. If I use a Cisco IPSec VPN i am able to connect without any of those issues

I have already reformatted my laptop

I also have adjusted the TCP Large Send offload within my Broadcom adapter

Any thoughts?

I tried today onsite with no VPN over the wireless and it was still happening (although it would at least let me login and interact for a little bit) I then tried wired which seemed better but still happened a few times

Also I am starting to suspect a hardware issue because I reformatted when this same problem occurred last month also when I did a ping test to my router i got about a 3% packet loss on 100 pings and certain web pages will not load images all the way (see below) the image thing started a few days ago
