Exchange 2007 Getting Spammed

Our email server is sending out spam to our users like crazy. Checked the mail queue and there is no issues there thankfully. Just not sure how to stop this flowing in as it looks like it is being sent from both an internal and from external addresses. Any help on this would be appreciated as I have a limited knowledge of exchange due to the last job I had we used a hosted/managed system....

If your Exchange server is under a spam attack then you are going to have to deploy an antispam solution. There is one built in, but it isn't enabled by default.

Install the antispam agents to begin with:
http://exchange.sembee.info/2010/hub/filter-unknown.asp

If you find that isn't enough then you will have to look at third party software. Hard to make a recommendation as everything works for some and fails for others. Vamsoft ORF I have used in the apst with success, as as GFI Mail Essentials.

Spam is always spoofed so the fact that it is "sending" from internal addresses means nothing.
