Windows 7 64 bit:  Cannot or will not install Microsoft Combo keyboard/Mouse 5000 (laser)

Is not recognized nor can I install from Microsoft.  Keeps insisting software already installed, which it is not?

Since this is for windows 64 check if it is installed to Programfiles x 86, a 32 bit version?
In your search type in  itype.exe  do you find that?
or Click Start, Programs, Microsoft Keyboard
Have you rebooted recently?
Is this service running in the taskmanager
Services in taskmanagerDid you have a wired Microsoft Keyboard and mouse installed previously?
Then it maybe that Microsoft doesn't see any the new wireless
If setup installed a generic driver when you connected the hardware may be why Microsoft says it's already installed.
Are you downloading from here?
There is two. Intelli Type and Intelli Point

Please confirm if you see anything I have mentioned?
