Server 2012 Standard

I am considering moving from a Server 2008R2 Enterprise Hyper-V cluster to a Server 2012 Standard Hyper-V cluster. Server 2012 Standard only allows 2 Hyper-V Hosts per physical server.
If we use 2 hosts per server and I have to do maintenance or have a physical server failure, what will happen? Will my virtual servers not failover to the other servers? Or will it allow it for a certain period of time?

Yes, it will fail over with no time restrictions.

Microsoft does not enforce where the licences are used, it’s up to the user (you) to respect the licence agreement.

However, I will still recommend using Datacenter license, if you are planning to add more Windows Server 2012 virtual machines in the future.

Thanks for the quick answer.
It's not my call for licensing, also the Datacenter version is a lot more expensive.
