When you connect to the wifi you can go inot your router and display dhcp info

In the dhcp info you will find your device which will give your the ip address and the mac address

The mac address is what you need.

Take the mac address and in the dhcp setup create yourself a dhxp reservation

Make sure you assign the ip address outside the dhcp scope that assigns ip addresses

For some unknown reason the router DHCP is not working properly but static IP addresses does well, so I can´t perform a dhxp reservation.

What type of router do you have?

Is this home or office network?

in order to use it for a wifi connection?
Are you trying to tether your phone so that you can share the Internet your cell service provides?

I have a HTC Velocity so these steps should be the same as your Sensation.

1. Go to Settings -> Wi-Fi
2. Long touch on the WiFi Network
3. Modify Network
4. Tick Show Advanced Options
5. Change IP Settings to Static from DHCP
6. Scroll down and you can set the IP address / Netmask / Gateway there.

Have you contacted your ISP to ask them why DHCP is not working on your phone?

Does your phone connect to the wireless at all?

Do you have any other wireless devices that work?

I have an iphone found this app called Fing they might have one for your phone.

When connected to the wireless the app shows your ip address and all other devices connected .
