I'm looking for a softphone phone to connect to a standard residential phone line via my modem.

Anyone know if a decent product with standard features like Hold, and Speed Dial?

Your modem probably came with a softphone that has those features.  If you've lost the software, I'd go to the manufacturer's site and see if you can't download it there.
