ASA webvpn rewrite and IIS

Just a question of who to blame on this issue, cisco or IIS?

I have an SSO setup that sends me to a secure site https://x.x.x.x/RDWeb (2012 windows server).

the URL does not work at all unless smart tunnel is checked. Cisco says on sites that do not except rewrite URL's then smart tunnel is a work around. So does this mean IIS is to blame?

If so is there a fix on the IIS side or am I stuck with the smart tunnel option?

RDWeb does nto include any "tunneling" capabilites, it is just a method of launching an RDP connection, hence your requirement for smart tunnel.

Adding RD Gateway might assist you, but I have not tried it with ASA webvpn or SSO

Can you please post a link to some documentation? Just so I have something to back me up.

Thanks for your reply.

How about http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc772415.aspx

By using RemoteApp together with RD Gateway, you can enable users to connect from the Internet to individual programs on a Remote Desktop Session Host (RD Session Host) server without having to first establish a virtual private network (VPN) connection

ASA webvpn without smart tunnel is only forwarding HTTP(S), there is no route from the client to the RD Server, RD Gateway provides this with tunnelling in the same way that the smart tunnel option does.

There is the RDP plugin for webvpn in teh ASA, but this will probably not meet your requirements.
