Hi there,

I have exchange 2010, works really good with office 2010.

Just installed office 2013.  Outlook 2013 is the patient here.  I have spend now the whole day on this.  Made new profiles, disabled and removed antivirus.  Everytime I click on outlook2013, it just freezes on either 'processing' or starting.  It loads up quickly in safemode, then I close it and open up again, same story.  Freezes at the above mentioned windows.  Is it a punishment of buying a new product as always Microsoft!.  Keep it up keep on sending new products and we keep on testing out for you.  Need help as always!  Regards.

Nothing of significance which would tell me why this is happening.

If you can open Outlook in safe mode then try disable plugins one by one. Close Outlook and relaunch it. Hopefully it will help you work out which plugin is causing the freeze.

You could also try disabling the "Microsoft Online Services Sign-in Assistant "http://windowsvc.com/bbs/board.php?bo_table=windowsvc&wr_id=2549 as this could be the culprit in your case. If Office365 is not in use disabling this will not make any difference to you.

Also I suggest disabling any add-ins that you don't think are not being used including Microsoft Add-ins related to online services such as sharepoint and Office 365.

I disabled all add-ins outlook 2013 opened up.  I closed outlook 2013, again the same problem, opened outlook2013 in safemode and saw the add-in 'Microsoft VBA for outlook add-in (this is the only one active and I cannot disable it)  may be this is the route cause, not sure.

This is interesting, every first time I make disable or enable any add-in outlook2013 opens up, every second outlook freezes?

Guys there is always a risk you take by being the first one to try something. I am sure Microsoft will release some updates to fix it. In the meantime, have you tried installing Outlook 2013 on another PC in your network?

manav08:
I finally Uninstalled office 2013 jumped back to office 2010 and things are working flawless.  I would not say it was a risk, as the office 2013 is out in the market not a beta version anymore.  I tried installing on a brand new machine and Outlook 2013 had the same issue.  I gave up and back to office 2010.

I have the exact same problem as Amanzoor...Disabled all add ins and the VBA Addin shows up. Ive tried repairing from the add/remove programs, recreating the profile, I turned cached mode off and it worked one time and then back to not working, I tried the scanpst.exe and it said it found and fixed errors but still doesn't work. I'm using outlook 2013 in exchange environment.

Outlook.exe /safe works.

I have the outlook icon pinned at the bottom and if i right click and then click New Message a new email comes up but then i go to start menu and click on Outlook and it opens fine.

Guys, how can this be marked as a solution, running Outlook in safe mode is NOT a solution.
