I have remote server. I have shared one folder at remove server. Now when I access that shared folder then I am able to access that folder from my local machine like

\\servername\shared folder name

But I want when I type \\servername\shared folder name in run, then it should be asked me for credentials like username and password

How Can I do this?

Set a local administrator password on the server. When the login box pops up, try;

username: servername\administrator

And then the password you set.

You can or you can't??

What is the situation? Is the remote server part of a domain? And is the cliënt computer part of that same domain, or another?

If not, what workgroup is configured on both the server and the cliënt??
