qmail setup issues

I'm trying to setup my own mail server with qmail and I'm having issues sending and receiving emails I've tested sending and receiving to 2 seperate hosted email service providers (hostedemail.com and registrar-servers.com) as well to Hotmail and Yahoo mail.

I would like to confirm if the problem I'm having is because my static IP's reverse lookup (RPT) does not resolve to my domain, but to my ISP's domain I'm trying to create the mail server with cruzcontrolradius.com.

Bellow are the results of my emails.

Thanks you for any help or advice!!

Yahoo mail accepted my emails but as Spam.

Hotmail provided the following reason: Mail rejected by Hotmail for policy reasons. We generally do not accept email from dynamic IP's as they are not typically used to deliver unauthenticated SMTP email to an Internet mail server. If you are not an email/network admin please contact your Email/Internet Service Provider for help. http://www.spamhaus.org maintains lists of dynamic and residential IP addresses.

Sorry. Although I'm listed as a best-preference MX or A for that host,
it isn't in my control/locals file, so I don't treat it as local. (#5.4.6)

is your hostname listed in /var/qmail/control/locals and /var/qmail/control/rcpthosts files?

if not add the hostname there and restart qmail and test again

a follow up:
after I changed the local host name to the mail servers full domain name ie mail.server.com
email started to be deliverd.
I also also asked my ISP to change the RPT / reverse lookup associated with the IP and everything seems to be working ok.
