Overview:

I don't do much with SSIS but we have a need to copy data from SQL servers in LA
To Denver nightly.

How can I use SSIS to grab changed data and place in another DB in Denver.

The LA SQL servers are accessible through our intranet.

In my oppinion you should look at Log Shipping and more details at link below. Basicaly you take a full backup at source enable log shipping, restore at destination then just "ship"/restore the T-logs.

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms187103(v=sql.100).aspx
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms190640(v=sql.100).aspx

from the destination db you can then read (only) data that you need.

Okay,  I like the export, option 2 in the above link.  But it seems to work with all data,   how do i get just the new or changed data.  And I want to run every night fully automated.
