I'm really bad with hard drive types and looking for help in the form of links to Amazon or other reputable online sellers for a new hard drive. I have a Dell Inspirion 1545 which originally had a Toshiba hard drive, model MK2555GSX. It seems to be pretty tough to find this hard drive now so another one that will do the trick is welcomed.

Any current 2.5" SATA Disk should do fine.

you can even replace it with an SSD - and that would greatly increase the speed of the laptop...

SSD is the best option as mentioned above but if you do not want it then go with hitachi 5k750-500. That is a good drive for laptops.
