I create a layer - add the text - then on the layers window  right click on the text layer  and convert to Shape.

then click on the actual text and Ctrl-T to select and right click and select free transform, hold the  ctrl and shift keys down to adjust the corners to the shape of the book.

Thanks.  Why does converting to shape straighten out the text?

I think (guessing really)  each character is treated as a little block and making them go diagonal is like a staircase effect and they are still text  converting to a shape makes it a graphic which is easier to bend?
