Hi,

We have 3 USB Caddy's which we use in a rotational backup system for our client. Every time they take out the USB Drive after a nightly backup & plug the new one in I have to go into backup exec & bring the B2D online again before the Job will start. Is there a way that everytime i swap out a USB Drive for another one that B2D will just come online without me having to intervene?

Useful Info =
Backup Exec 11D
3x 2TB WD Caddy's

You have two options first and the best one is to upgrade to BE 2010 it automatically picks up the drive irrespective of the letter assigned to it

The second option is to  go to computer management > Storage > Disk Management, right-click on the drive you want to configure and select Change Drive Letter and Paths.... There you can change the drive letter that's assigned to the drive, Make sure to use higher drive letters so that other removable devices don't steal the next available driver letter and cause a conflict.
After this is done, whenever the drive is plugged back in, this letter will be used if it's available
