Migrating users to Office 365 Hosted Exchange from Exchange 2010

Hi There,
We have a current installation of SBS 2011 with Exchange 2010 and approximately 70 Mail enabled users.

We are looking at alleviating the load on our SBS Server by migrating users over to Hosted Exchange. We don't want a major impact on operations so are looking to migrate a few users at a time. We have started reading up peoples guides on doing such a task, but are constantly coming across people stating ADFS is an absolute must, which given our size and number of servers this is out of the question.

Could someone recommend a guide for us smaller SME's looking to switch to the cloud? We are only looking at switching the Exchange for now, and not looking at using Office 365 as a whole.

Hybrid deployments pretty much need ADFS, which is why you aren't finding much.

And if you only want to move a few users at a time, that is a hybrid (part on-prem, part cloud) by definition.

If you can't do ADFS, and I do agree with you that doing so is not practical for the small business, then you really need to commit to just doing a full migration and not a few users at a time.

From finding the instructions on Office365 site - looks like Cut-Off Migration is the only way to go. http://help.outlook.com/en-GB/140/ms.exch.ecp.emailmigrationwizardexchangelearnmore.aspx#begin Thanks for the prompt response.
