Suppress a Field

I would like to hide a field where the date would be greater than the date entered into the paramenters
I have gone format field, common tab, then into the frmula editor, tried
 > {?End Date}
but does not work. What should the formula be?

You should add the field name
{fieldname}> {?End Date}
