Hello, a friend of mine asked me if  I could offer any tips for getting out of casual gaming and starting into serious PC gaming. Right now he plays mostly Minecraft and Team Fortress 2. Can you offer any good games/hardware he should get if he wants to get into serious PC gaming? Thanks.

MC is only sort of casual and TF2 is definitely not casual. But assuming he like first person games, he may like Skyrim, Mass Effect, Fallout 3, Dishonored, Far Cry 3, and similar. He may enjoy trying a MMORPG, such as one of the free ones like Lord of the Rings Online or Champions Online, or a paid one like World of Warcraft. Heard pretty good things about Guild Wars 2 also. Hope these ideas help.
