Help in automating monthly data dump

Hi

I have a monthly task to produce a data dump

I have to do the following steps

Truncate a data table

import fresh data from excel

run a select statment to select data from the data tables includimg the data in the table previously refreshed into a sql report.

import the data from the sql report into excel.


I would like to know the best way to automate the above can anyone help please?

Can you use SSIS and a SQL Server Agent job to automate it?  In other words, is you Edition of SQL Server something better than SQL Server Express?

Yep i can i have SSIS, can i automate using that do you think?

Absolutely.  Well, provided that the Excel data is well-formatted.  Typically you are better off importing from text files.
