Somehow I have IE8 and IE9 installed side by side
I have a 64 bit Windows 7 PC that according to the Turn Windows features on or off dialog has IE9 installed but when I do Help | About in IE it is showing IE8.
How can I fix it so the version we run is actually IE 9?

actionco--Is the IE 9 installation for 64 bit?
There is nothing wrong with having both installed. But you have to set your IE icon shortcut Target line to where the IE9 iexplore.exe resides.
However, you can uninstall IE8 from Performance and Features if you really do not want it.

Internet explorer is corrupted.
Looks like ie9 update is partially installed...go to internet options - advanced- click reset to reset internet explorer settings..
After that restart the system and then check help - about in Internet explorer.
If the above does not work then create a new user account and check the IE version in help-about.
