How can I extract a month name from a date using pl/sql

I'm extracting the number for selection and would like to display the month name

to_char(sysdate,'Month)

Substitute sysdate with your date variable/field.

If you just have a 'number': a Case statement would be the easiest but in SQL:
to_char(to_date(yourNumber,'MM'),'Month')
