Hello guys,

This is my first question here, as I'm quite puzzled in how to fix it.
I bought a G-TEC TP110 UPS 6 months ago and used it on a linux server. Now I want to move it onto a windows server (dell pe 2950) and I would also like to make use of the UPS management software it came with.

I've installed the UPS software, plugged the USB cable in both the UPS and the dell server, but things are just not working because windows server 2008 said that USB drivers were not installed ok (searched google, unable to find USB drivers for this UPS) and obviously the management UPS app cannot connect to the UPS itself.

Here's the link to the UPS itself: http://www.gtec-power.eu/eng/tp110.htm

I've sent e-mails to the gtec guys, but unfortunately no answer. So I hope there is someone here who faced the same issue and fixed this.

Thanks !

I would have thought that the management software would install the drivers, or if not install them, at least have them on the CD.

I tend to use APC UPSs specifically for the software, all of the servers powered from the UPS, one connected to it over serial or Ethernet, and the rest being able to be shutdown from it...

It might happen that only via RS232 port is possible, meaning that the USB cable provided with the UPS has no use afterall.

The USB port appears to be an optional extra, I would try with the serial port
