Issues with RDP on to Server 2008 / 2008 R2 hosting Citrix

Good evening Experts,

I'm currently testing W8 and have come across an odd issue.

I cannot RDP Citrix servers when the OS is 2K8 or 2K8 R2. I can RDP Citrix boxes on Server 2003 without a problem. I can also RDP newer OS (Server 2K12 / SBS 2K12) without an issue.

I'm thinking there's a compatibility issue due to the ICA configuration / requirements but I really am not sure - so just throwing it to the crowd to see if any of you have encountered this before, and know a workaround.

All of the boxes that I've seen the issue on (and we're talking upwards of 6 here) are standard "out of the box" installations without any particular bells and whistles. They are small installations with one farm in the environment.

Every time, the RDP connection appears to establish, then I get a standard windows "encountered an error" message for Remote Desktop, and the session is terminated. I am using Windows 8 Enterprise 64 bit. I have replicated this issue on 3 different machines (all 64 bit, I currently don't have a 32 bit client available for testing).

So... over to you guys!

As I've said in the original, I can RDP other servers. Yes, it's just Citrix on 2008 and 2008 R2 that's problematic.
