Can you rename a SQL Server which is part of the domain ?

Hello,

I have a Win 2k8 Server with SQL Server 2012, it is part of the domain.

Can I rename the Server ?
Will SQL Server enter in panic ?

From SSMS connected to that instance of SQL Server.

Yes.
Is that procedure a Query ?
Strictly speaking it is a SQL Script.  But you run it just like you would any query from the SSMS Query window.
