Lotus Notes Link URL Hotspot issue with iphone

Hi Guys,

We have a video uploaded onto youtube.
I am wanting to create a link hotspot to the video on youtube within an email that can be sent out.
I have tired this and it works fine when emails are viewed within an email client or web based (gmail, hotmail etc) but if I access the email through my iphone (im running gmail) the picture link doesn't work, instead it asks if I want to save or email of the pic.

Its as though it can't register the link?

Email and link needs to be able to be viewed and accessed by smart phones as well as pc/mac

Any thought.

It seems clear it is the IPhone mail client and not Notes. A few things that may help.

1) Does your ipad and the iphone have the same verson? This might explain the difference in behavior.

2) Is the mail client changing the URL? Some clients massage the format and links to accommodate its own features.

3) Does the mail client have a setting that would open a link in a different app? In Firefox and IE, you can change the default program that would open PDFs, image and video files.

4) Try to copy the link from a browser, then paste it into a link on an email. See if this link works.

5) Do the same from the email client. Create an email with the link pasted into it. Save the email as a draft. Open it and test the link.

Hey Guys,

Just more to this.

I found that if i use safari and browse to gmail.com and check the email then the link works.
So issue lies with when using the in built iphone mail service to access the email...
