SSRS Subscription with Parameters

Urgent.
I have a report in SSRS that shows data that has been updated and I need to set a parameter that gets the last update (this is being run daily) and a subscription that runs daily but if there are no updates then do not send report.

Presently, I only have an update that is timestamped last week so I cannot test for =today() because this throws an error (and I cannot change the timestamp or create a table). Pls explain how to set the parameter so that it gets the days' updates.

Also, How can I set up the subscription?  Do I copy the SSRS query to the query text box in subscription area to run the report?  

I am a bit confused on these processes - just started using SSRS.

hi,

 Try the below below steps .

1. create a parameter and set the available values and Default values properties .
2. in default parameter set the default value expression as per your requirement.


3. go top the subscription tab.... create a new subscription.... in the bottom you can see a option with the check box for default value. select the check box and press ok .. this will take the default value as per your expression when ever its running.



if you are not clear  can you please tell me what value are you going pass for processing your report.

give one example with data
