Hi All,

We are currently moving to windows 7. On certain users who have big archives find ever time they try to open them in outlook, outlook freezes. When outlook crashes you need to reboot the machine in order to reopen outlook. Now when you try to log off the machine hangs, we have left these over night to log off and still they have not. The only way to get around it is to crash the machine. This does not happen to everyone with a windows 7 machine only the ones who seem to have an archive.

how big is the archive file. Could be possibly a corrupt .pst archive file.

I would scan the file using Scanpst.exe and then try to import it again.

remember, when you open up an archive, the outlook will freeze (will say not responding) for a long time if it a big file so as long as it don't crash I would let it do whatever its doing.

you need to educate users to stop using .pst. there is an article on here about them as well.
