We are using FAST with SharePoint 2010 to crawl external data(SQL) using BCS.
However, we are getting an error 'The search request was unable to connect to the Search Service.'
Does someone know why we get this error and how to fix this?

Check whether the Sharepoint Search Services is Running or Not.

I dont know where to enable the search service in Sharepoint 2010. In Sharepoint 2007 you can enable it from the sharepoint services at "Central Administration > Operations > Services on Server" and Start the Stopped Search Service.

I checked in the central administration, the service - 'SharePoint Server Search' is started. But we are using the FAST serach. Should I look for any FAST related services on the SharePoint server?
