I  am having Windows 2003 Server.
I have a folder www.cufest.com which contains all my pages.
This i want to get it run from any location.
The ip of server is 124.124.x.x
What i am doing is the following:
1. Copying this folder in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\
2. Web sharing it.
3. Going to my computer.
4. Right click Manage.
5. Going to Internet Information Services.
6. Creating virtual directory.
7. Giving alias and giving the physical path to this folder.

What else.
I want to open the site as www.cufest.com rather than 124.124.x.x\www,cufest.com

Please guide.

1- you may create host header for the website called  www.cufest.com during creating the virtual site.
2- create a DNS record for the website that map the URL to IP address.
3-make sure that the starting webpage is defined under documents tab or rename it as default.asp, index.html ...etc

This video shows how to configure a website using host header:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdXKp6JXqfg

You can also refer to the article below:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/816576

To map the URL or FQDN to an IP address, you would need to create a host record in DNS.
Do you have a DNS server? If yes what is the OS?
