Setup Projects

When adding a setup project to your Visual Studio Solution, can you create it to install more than one application? ( For instance, say you have two windows apps within the same solution)
and you want to install these 2 exes at the same time using the setup project.

with Visual Studio 2010:-

You can set it to include the build output of any application in the solution, or any file from your local file system

Whether its a .exe or .dll or any arbitrary file from your file system can be packaged for deployment.

Then using the template you can then add shortcuts to the applications to anywhere on the file system

Are you saying Visual Studio 2010 because that is your experience or are previous Visual Studio versions 2005 and 2008 different?

2005/2008 are not much different to 2010, the setup environment is powered by WIX or Windows Installer,

in 2012, its powered by installshield LE, which is different, but I don't use it or hven't had the need to. I would imagine that the same functionality exists with it, but from what I read its harder to use, and the scripting language is buggy

The other deployment tech is "Click Once Deployment", you use the publish menu, and its typically for single applications and linked references. Google Chrome uses clickonce to start the setup program.
