The Windows Live Mail message store is in here

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail

You probably want to make sure you get the whole folder.

I grabbed the folder in there with my name on it and succesfully transferred the mail to Thunderbird as a test.
