First, I know NOTHING about minecraft.  I have never played minecraft, much less run a minecraft server.

Nevertheless, I was asked to "set up" a hosted minecraft server for a client's children (2 boys 9 and 11).  And, I was glad to do it.

I thought this meant that they wanted me to find a host, sign them up, and get their clients to log into their own server.  But, once they logged on, the hit me with a barrage of things that they needed that I have NO IDEA how to implement.

They want the older brother to be the "owner" and the little brother to be a "co-owner".  I assume this is some type of administration role, but I have no idea how to enable this for them.

Then they gave me a list of what I assume are commands that they say are missing.  Here is the list (as best I can read the 9 year old's handwriting)....

/tpa player
/te player
/Gm1 player
/Gm0 player
/flag player
/kill player
/jail player
/ban player
/kick player
/mute player
/wand player
/kitty cannon number
/nick
/hell
^^^^^^^^^^^ is that just his bad handwriting?
/spawn

I tried looking at the minecraft wiki, but that site starts out over my head.

Sounds like your kids are used to playing on modified servers.

Most of these commands need additional open source plug-ins to be installed

CraftBukkit (http://wiki.bukkit.org/Setting_up_a_server) can supply most of them but commands like /wand need a World Editor (player gets a wand they can change their surroundings with).

If they've been playing on a friend's server the quickest fix is for them to ask what plug-ins they have installed and mirror yours as much as possible.  Bear in mind that Minecraft is an open source minefield and certain combinations of mods and plug-ins just don't get on with each other and you may need to reinstall.

    /tpa player teleport request - Player command - also /tpaaccept /tpadeny and /tpahere

    /te player  /tp ??  Another teleport command

/Gm1 player Needs the "Simple GameMode" plug-in

/Gm0 player Needs the "Simple GameMode" plug-in

    /flag player

/kill player - despite what they might want to do with this the command only applys to the player using it - so ends your game.  You can't "kill" another player with it.

    /jail player - Community Manger command (actually /jails )

/ban player - Community Manager chat command

/kick player - Community Manager chat command

/mute player - Community Manager chat command

/wand player - Needs the "World Edit" platform installed

/kitty cannon number - you need to install the Kitty Cannon Bukkit plugin for multiplayer servers to get this

    /nick

    /help - player command

^^^^^^^^^^^ is that just his bad handwriting? - Yes :)

    /spawn - player command
