Hello,

We want to install Mediawiki to make a wiki for our community.

How do we do it without known more than a little bit of PHP/MySQL?

I haven't used MySQL in many years.

Thanks!

Have you read thru the Install instructions on this page: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki   You first have to have a server with Apache or IIS, PHP, and MySQL already installed.  There are other considerations mentioned on the Install page.

We've got Apache, IIS, and MySQL

It's going to be on 1and1.com. I believe we're ready for it, though I don't know PHP or MySQL very well.

Why 1and1?  Oh well, it will probably work.  Choose Linux with Apache and Mysql and start your new learning experience.  You should probably do a lot of reading before you start.

You should also ask them if they already have a version of it available for an 'automatic' install.  They have Wordpress, Joomla, and others.  You might not have to install it yourself.
