Anyone have any info on how to connect a Minolta 4690MF printer to a computer using Suse 12.1.  I am thinking of purchasing one of these printers but need an Idea about the difficulty in installing a driver for it.

Hi sargent240,
It looks promising and should be fairly simple, see the link below for the foo2lava package which supports it (but printing ONLY at least at this time), just make sure you download straight off their site and NOT from Suse's built in package manager as they note on their website, let me know if you have any questions or issues, good luck!

Thank you.  I tried to make an Oki C5100 printer work using this process and the driver that were recommended (not foo2lava) and could not make the color work.  It prints in black but no color.  You mention "Printing only at least at this time."  Do you mean the printer and copier work but not the scanning?  As you did not mention it do I assume the color printing works fine?  Thanks.

Hi sargent240,
From what I can see color printing works perfect, printing in general works perfect but yes scanning etc may not at least at this time, I know they used to update that driver frequently so I'd assume they're still keeping it up, additionally you could email them to inquire the status on scanning etc and I'm sure they'd get back to you pretty quick, if you request it personally it could help speed up the development for that specific printer and they may even be able to provide a alpha/beta workaround - so worth a shot! But yea printing works good its just the other functions which probably won't perform well, but never know! Im poking around to see if there are any ways to workaround and get the multifunction features a bit more solid but unfortunately nothing yet,

And of course copying will work fine as well! Just the scanning that's up in the air,
