I have several Catalyst 2960G-48TC-L and I need to get the fiber connection to the dual-purpose uplink ports (45-48). I bought the sfp transceivers and to be prepared, I am just wondering if there is any configuration I need to do once the sfp transceivers are plugged in. Thanks

If they are the correct tranceivers for the platform, once they are admin'd up they are essentially plug and play. Some log messages will be generated when you insert them the first time.

You can hardcode the media type on the interface, but it technically isn't necessary.

config-int)#media-type sfp
