With the read access denied to the source, what is the type of device where the data is written? Tape, disk, etc? Could there be a permission problem reading from the source device. Although you are using the same logon to make and restore the backup, what account are the services running on for the master, media, and client?

Storage Device is Tape Drive.
User Name of SAP is oravep.
User Name of Netbackup is root
