Hi All.

We have deployed DPM2012 with a client protecting 4 servers.

The product works fine however we have been asked a question and not sure if its possible.

The client wishes to use DPM2012 to backup data for ONE of the servers to a remote location which is in-fact in another office connected via a DSL connection.

Is this possible and if so how can this be done.

Any help would be much appreciated
Thank you
Andy Keen.

DPM can only backup to locally attached storage.

There is a beta for using Azure, the Microsoft Cloud service, but this is not a self hosted option.

You could run DPM to DPM backup, backup teh first DPM server with a second remote DPM server.

DPM however isn't great over ADSL links. What type of data is it ? If it was a file server, you might look at DFS Replication to have a "live" copy of files and add VSS to the mix to give you snapshots.
