outlook 2010 rules

I noticed a default rule in outlook 2010 that clears emails categories after the message arrives.
I was wondering why you would want to do this? I'm even a little unclear on what the categories are in emails.
Any ideas?

Yes that is because categories worked based on single user level. UserA category doesn't need to be same for UserB.

if userA is blue, userB can be pink right ;)

A category is a keyword or phrase that helps you keep track of items so you can easily find, sort, filter, or group them. Use categories to keep track of different types of items that are related but stored in different folders.
