I need to export nested distribution list to excel/csv/access from Outlook 2007.
These DL's are not owned or maintained by me, and part of global address book of the company.

I require a nested extract to check if a user is part of the entire nested DL and if yes, by virtue of membership to which DL/sub-dl (including capturing of multiple instances).

Also, since, DL is dynamic, so I cannot work with a static database by creating a one time database manually for the DL's.

Kindly advise.

How many DLs are we talking about here

Can you just right click on them
Add to your contacts

Open he DL
Do the same for the nested DLs

then export them individually?

1. Number DL's : 40 to 50 arranged in 5-6 level of hierarchies.
2. Yes, I can add the DL to my contacts, but not sure if it will help achieve the objective.

My objective for this task is as follows:

Email provided : abc@xyz.com

Search this email in the entire DL (nested levels) to list all the groups for which this email is member. Can be multiple instances.

Now, since DL is dyanmic, I would want to refresh my data each time automatically before running this search task.

let's say, i am doing this search activity in MS Excel, so need a connectivity that fetches me updated DL for me.

Please see, if you can advise something better.

Well one thing is for sure

Your not going to be able to do this natively in Outlook

Likely you may find this functionality in a 3rd party Product, such as GroupID Resports

The product is listed here on SlipStick, along with some others
