Office 2013 hangs during install

I had office 2010 installed tried the upgrade, that froze as well. I completely removed office 2010 using the fix it tool, now trying to install a full version, also froze about 80% complete. I have my AV disabled, what else? Way to go Microsoft.

I'll take this a setup further and tell you I even tried to install on a different computer same results.

You might want to look in the event logs for some clues. You sound like you have done all the correct steps.

You might want to just make sure it is hung, and not just taking a while. Best to look at running processes and see if there is any activity on the installer processes.

I have read articles indicating that the install can be a 3+ hour process, depending upon one's Internet connection. Are you installing with Windows 7 or Windows 8?
