windows update and WSUS

We have few windows2008 R2 servers, My collegue suggest us to patch it through sccm.
I want to do manual update via windows update.
is there any advantages using SCCM other than automating the task ?

SCCM delivers a lot of reports and dashboards to check your Updates Status.

SCCM is a enterprise product and delivers the possibility to create custom deployments, e.g. you can define mainteance windows where there servers are installing the updates automatically. Also it's possible to split all Systems into Groups and patch you Systems in waves to make sure the Updates do not break your systems.

....but in Summary it's just to automate the installation.
