Windows 7 installation on Samsung NP900X4C-A02SE, cannot find disc
We bought Samsung NP900X4C-A02SE, it came with preinstalled Windows 8. We are trying to install Windows 7 on it, but W7 installation cannot find the SSD drive on the laptop. We needed to disable UEFI and Secureboot to get W7 installation started, but not that it starts, it can't find the disc. And I cannot find any drivers to this laptop for storage that can be given on installation. Tried to disable AHCI also, same results. How to get W7 for this model?
It is the AHCI that is causing the problem.. you will have to get the driver off of the Samsung Website, I tried myself but had no luck.. perhaps one of the support pages that they will email you have further options.

Downloaded Intel Rapid Storage Driver from their site f6flpy-x64.zip, extracted, put on the usb stick, windows installation finds hardware matching to that driver, but still cannot find the disc after this
And the chipset driver? Unpacking it it includes AHCI things...
Also, enable UEFI for Windows 7 if it's the 64bit version. It should work and you would also be able to use your disk in GPT, not MBR mode then.

Have you checked with Samsung that it is Windows 7 compatible?
ASKER
It is Windows 7 compatible.

Haven't heard anything back from Samsung still after I emailed their support yesterday
Have you tried the chipset driver like I suggested several times already?
ASKER
Tried chipset driver also, will find compatible driver on installation, but not drive after that

If you are installing a 64 bit version of Windows 7 you should only need to disable secureboot for the installation, UEFI should be fine.
