Must I configure Windows 8 mail using Microsoft Account?
I'm new to Windows 8. I would like to configure the Windows 8 mail client to retrieve my IMAP email hosted on my local ISP server. I don't want to sign up for a Microsoft account or use the mail client for anything other than my personal mail.
When I open the Mail client on Windows 8, the first thing it says is to "add your Microsoft Account".
Is there no way to configure Windows 8 mail to retrieve another type of email account without first configuring it to Microsoft mail?

The initial setup is not setting up a mail account. You're setting up a profile which will store your account(s) settings on the live.com cloud.
You do not have to use a live.com email either. I have all my users bound to their work emails.
I like the idea for the next time my 50 users decide to update their OS, all they have to do to migrate mail profiles is just type in their live.com id and pass.
