i currently have a P55A UD3 gigabyte motherboard that appears to be partially fried.

The uproc is Intel i7 860 2.8GH

It seems the quickest path to  be operational again (it's my business!) is to replace the motherboard.

(the disks all work in another system, and RAM seems fine)

is there acurrently available MB that has this i7 socket that i can upgrade too using the same i7 860 chip?

thanks!

I assume you tried finding another Gigabyte to limit OS issues?

Newegg has a couple of BIOSTARs listed:

to replace the current model with the same model # seems all but impossible - every listing shows out of stock, discontinued, etc.
i found one but it was almost $300,  thus i'm willing to upgrade (and re install everything)

Do you have experience with Biostar?

i had seen these, but am not seeing an ethernet port ?

Thank you much.   : )

Yes, but not recently. They have had some "issues" in the past (though most other makers have also),  but have made a better rep for themselves lately. And both of those have 1gig nics.
