I have an HP2727 scan/fax/printer. I'd like to have access to scanning from it on a virtual station. I cannot get past the software installer when it seeks the USB connected device.
I have searched the web many people have issues with USB devices on their virtual machines. I need a soluton for Windows 7 Pro running on a hyper-v microsoft server.

There is no USB support on Hyper-V, you could try a USB virtual network solution

You know ... everybody says that.
It's probably true, but not helpful in this case.

I read this:
http://www.experts-exchange.com/Hardware/Peripherals/Scanners/HP/Q_25108960.html

and " ctrl Shift and click cancel to bypass the USB check. " solved the problem.

now my M2727 is scanning for three different users, all on Windows 7 pro virtual machines in a 2008 / hyper-v servers.
