Searching for best method to Sync Android with Outlook

Greetings wise wizards of EE:

I'm helping a friend who wants to sync calendar & contact data with Outlook 2007 with her Android smart phone and Android tablet. From my research, there appears to be several ways to do this, mostly via an app purchase, but I've yet to find a definitive method that stands above the rest.

I am hoping that one of you could point me in the right direction as to the best syncing method, as well as why you recommend it.

Many thanks in advance,

Zovoth

i assume this will be for personal email and contact items on a local system, no hosted mail or Exchange linkage??

its not easy without Exchange, but Google Outlook sync process may help with most of it, and then link the device to an active Google account and you should be able to replicate back and forth.  As you say, there will be a few apps that can help, but its will likely cost some funds to pull off.

Most handset providers also provide software which will help port data to and from the device via USB, but they can vary by quiet some margin to their usefulness.

Greetings IanNIX:

Many thanks for your reply; as I suspected, syncing with an Android device and Outlook isn't terribly straight-foward. I suppose Google wants Android users to use Gmail instead. I will check out the apps regardless, and let my friend know.

Thanks again and take care,

Zovoth
