I am following this atricle for creating Custom Event Reciever. But get following error in the event viewer.

Could not load type 'CustomEventReciever.MyListEventReceiver1 ' from assembly 'CustomEventReciever, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=a5aefc93fbdd5509'.

1. I cretaed class library with CustomEventReciever name and class MyListEventReceiver1within it.

2. Signed relesed version of assembly CustomEventReciever.dll

3. Added assembly to GAC using "gacutil.exe -if CustomEventReciever.dll"
it is added to GAC successfully

4. then creted feature.xml and elements.xml files at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\TEMPLATE\FEATURES\BindingToAListType
(Files are attached here)

But when I install and activate the feature I get the above error in event log and feature dose not work the way it should.

What can be the problem? I use VS Express 2010 so I dont have sharepoint extention for it.

Thank you very much!

Dear SBSAdmin,

The problem seems to be with the namespace declaration.

The elements.xml you provided, contains two different namespace for event receiver class. Here have a look:

<Class>CustomEventReciever.MyListEventReceiver1</Class>
and
<Class> CustomEventReciever.EventReceivers.MyListEventReceiver1 </Class>

Check and verify how you want to declare your namespace.

Create a uniform namespace and you should not receive this error anymore.

Enjoy!!....
