Disappearing Text when Mouse moves over content

if you look at:
http://www.guestservices.com/ourplanet_DRAFT2.html

and click on Columbia Island Marina (under Green Initiatves) on the right navigation
works great

then move your mouse to the left side of the page (where the logo is) and the middle content disappears

It works fine in FF, Opera, chrome, just not in IE9

There's something wrong with the logo's behavior (happens only when you hover over the logo). The logo's frame enlarges (to the right) and covers the page's center content.
