SharePoint 2007 sp1 installation error

hi,

When i try to install SharePoint 2007  SP1  this error appear to me:

“The detection failed, this can be due to a corrupted installation database”

i have database 2005 and SharePoint server 2007 installed in the same server

your respond highly appreciated

Dear Alfa,

This problem is caused due to the installation files in the "C:\Windows\Installer" folder were deleted. These files are required to install updates. Maybe you should check these threads, I think it’s helpful and enlightening to you:

you can try the method which was posted by Doug, many users said that the method works, perhaps you can solve this issue by it.
