Calculated fields in Dynamics CRM Polaris December 2012 update

Hello

Is there any way to calculate fields in the new CRM forms?

We use javascript to calculate things like lead scores and quote margins when certain fields change (JS onChange event). As far as I know there is no way to do this client-side in real time with the new release... is there anything I'm missing?

Thanks
Cameron

Hi Cameron,

This is only true for Flow UI forms if you use Classic forms nothing has changed for you.

Also by default CRM will open forms in Classic mode whenever it detects custom JavaScript added for a given form.

Thanks Chinmay,

there are a few features we hoped to use in the Flow UI forms, and were hoping to start using them when we upgraded.

Is there any way to calculate fields in these forms?

Hi csmmsc90,

I don't think there is a supported way to do so with Flow UI.

IT, Stop Being Called Into Every Meeting

Highfive is so simple that setting up every meeting room takes just minutes and every employee will be able to start or join a call from any room with ease. Never be called into a meeting just to get it started again. This is how video conferencing should work!

When you say no "supported" way, did you mean there are unsupported ways?

Thanks

There might be[I am not sure] but then is it worth the risk? Earlier I was used to do a lot of unsupported customization[I'd up the game a bit n wud say I was an expert in that] but then in good ol' days changes were not these rapid in terms of UI and internal components. Nowadays it is too risky to use unsupported customization whenever UI elements are concerned.

Chinmay.

Thanks Chimnay, very helpful.
It's a pity... I was looking forward to using some of the features in the new interface.
Do you think javascript support will be added in the future??

I am not the right person to answer that question. You better redirect your concerns via connect.microsoft.com.
